Stormont Vail Health Hires Mark Slyter as the Next President & Chief Executive Officer
Stormont Vail Health, a Topeka, Kansas based nonprofit integrated health system, has appointed Mark Slyter as President & Chief Executive Officer, effective May 15, 2025. Stormont Vail Health partnered with Buffkin / Baker on the executive search.
In his role as President & CEO, Mark will be responsible for overseeing all strategy and operations across hospitals, clinics, and subsidiaries, ensuring effective execution of the strategic plan, budget, and policies. He will serve as a key representative of the board and formulate Stormont Vail’s mission and vision, foster a culture of quality and safety, and provide leadership to medical staff and team members. Additionally, Mark will collaborate with the board on governance, financial oversight, and long-term strategic planning to drive Stormont Vail’s continued success.
Mark joins Stormont Vail from Dignity Health, where he served as President & CEO, Arizona’s East Valley Market. There, he recruited to drive market expansion, enhance performance, and foster a high-reliability culture across safety, quality, service, people, and finance in a $2B, 1,000-bed and 8,000-employee market. Mark holds a master’s degree in health services administration from The University of Kansas and a Doctor of Science in Health Services Administration from University of Alabama at Birmingham.
